How Can I Get My Child Screened For Early Childhood Disabilities?

Children with disabilities and their families receive the full range of services from all Head Start participants. Children suspected of having a disabling condition or a child with a disability are provided services, including:

 

  • Screening for possible intervention and development and implementation of an individual education plan (IEP) that meets the child’s specific needs.
  • Head Start staff work closely with the local school system and community agencies to provide services that meet the unique needs of children with disabilities.
  • Children enrolled in Head Start will be referred to our LEA, EBR pupil appraisal, for screenings and services.
